Analysis of higher education in the face of the challenge of new digital tools and technologies

Higher education is undergoing a significant transformation driven by the rapid development of digital technologies. This study analyzes the impact of technological tools on teaching and learning processes in the university context. Through a documentary analysis of academic literature and theoretical reflections on teaching practices, the study examines changes in the role of the professor, the incorporation of digital learning platforms, and their effects on student training. The results show that digital technologies promote active learning methodologies, encourage autonomous learning, and strengthen key competencies for professional development. However, challenges related to the digital divide, teacher training, and ethical use of information are also identified. It is concluded that the integration of technology in higher education must be carried out from a critical pedagogical perspective that maximizes its potential while maintaining educational quality.
